Casual Colorblock

{J.Crew blazer, Anthro top (old), Madewell jeans, wedges, and tote}

I've always loved the colorblock look, but have never quite found a way to incorporate it into my own outfits. Enter: my discovery that this almost-cobalt silky top pairs quite nicely with my tried-and-true navy schoolboy blazer. Worn with this does-it-all navy leather tote that I carry 24/7, my new favorite shoes (I just adore that eye-popping green),and light wash boyfriend jeans, this was an easy yet stylish look that was perfect for a day at the office.

In other news, this post has probably set a record for most hyphens used in two sentences.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Recent Snapshots

My camera's decision to quit on me entirely has been the major culprit in my lack of posting photos since coming to New York- but all that's going to change soon enough, as I'm getting a new one!

In the meantime, I've been documenting what I can of my adventures in Manhattan, and above are a few pictures that sum up the past three weeks: touristing, food crawling (so many restaurants, so little time), shopping, and exploring. I'm constantly blown away by how inspiring this city is.

Sailboat Skirt

{Vintage skirt via Laura Dols, Victoria's Secret swimsuit top, Sam Edleman shoes, Coach bag, Invicta watch}

During our stay in Barcelona, we spent a day venturing to a beautiful little beach town outside the city. The occassion seemed like a perfect time to take this sailboat skirt, one of my all-time favorite vintage finds, out for a spin. Naturally, I couldn't resist the urge to pair the skirt with my favorite swimsuit of the same nautical persuasion. Imagine my joy upon encountering actual sailboats while taking these photos- some things are just meant to be.

Happy Friday! It's my first weekend in Manhattan, and I can't wait to soak up every minute of it.

Spanish Stripes

{Joie dress, Ray Ban sunglasses, We Are Labels necklace, Invicta watch, Sam Edleman shoes}

My last trip abroad was spent in Barcelona. One of my favorite spots we visited there was Parc Guell, where these photos were taken.

This dress is such a great summer staple: the breezy shift shape lends itself perfectly to sticky-hot weather, and looks chic on its own or cinched with a belt. Naturally, I love the stripe print at the bottom. I'm such a sucker for dresses like this that need so little accessorizing, especially when traveling.

Day in the Park

These photos were taken during one of my last days in Amsterdam, while in Vondelpark, one of my favorite spots in the city. It's an expansive park filled with fields of grass, lush trees, and beautiful ponds. When the sun comes out, droves of Amsterdammers flock to Vondelpark to lay out, bike, picnic, and everything in between.

I'm wearing a dress from Laura Dols, my favorite vintage store in Amsterdam. It's definitely one of my favorite treasures that I picked up while abroad. I absolutely adore the whimsical floral print and the tulle underlay that gives the skirt such a flouncy shape. This dress pretty much makes me feel like a fairy princess.

After a whirlwind last couple of weeks, I have arrived in New York for the summer! I start work today, and couldn't be more excited. Now that I'm here, I can't wait to get back in the groove of blogging. Next up? A few more posts from Europe, and then I'll get down to work-outfit posting.
