Snapshots

Hi lovely readers! I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted. Thought I'd show you all what I've been up to you to explain why I've been a bit absent from the blogosphere...
A couple weeks ago I went home to Texas for Austin City Limits music festival- it was my seventh year attending! The trip to Austin was such a nice break from the hustle Los Angeles.

The weather was a bit crazy--one minute it was sweltering, the next it was raining. Our solution? A towel-tent.

Of course, I got to revel in some Texas pride.

I'll definitely be back next year.

On Friday I assisted at the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party. It was such a fun night! The event was sponsored by Net-A-Porter and Coach, and the fashion show, which combined looks from the two brands, was spectacular.
Here with my lovely friend Celine, who helped me get my internship at Vogue

The weather is finally starting to cool down, and I'm having major urges to go all-out with my fall outfits. I'll be sure to share them here!

The Go-To

{Urban Outfitters dress and watch, J. Crew flats, Target sunglasses, gifted ring}
I can't believe I've never worn this dress on the blog before. It's one of my go-to pieces; whenever I wake up in a funk and don't quite know what to wear, I always end up putting on this dress.
I also have a soft spot in my heart for this dress because I wore it on my first date with my boyfriend.

I absolutely love the subtle print of this dress (and obviously the navy + white color combination).

My boyfriend gave me this ring for our anniversary last week, and I absolutely adore it--I haven't taken it off since. I love that it's subtle enough to be worn with anything.

I'm off to Austin tomorrow morning for Austin City Limits music festival, and I could not be more excited. Topping my list of must-see bands are Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes, Foster the People, Cut Copy, Bright Eyes, Kanye West, James Blake, and Coldplay.

P.S. I'm mildly obsessed with my new header, and wanted to give a huge shout out to the lovely lady that made it--thank you Jessie!

Prep Perfect

{images via style.com}
I have to admit, I've been a little out of the Fashion Week loop. I got a mean cold this week, and tuned out a bit to the fashion world. But when my friend showed me Jenni Kayne's Spring 2012 collection, I just couldn't ignore it. This collection is country club chic at it's finest--I mean, the cable knit sweaters, the neon pink short-suit, and the croakies? It doesn't get much better than this. I love that the collection maintains an urban aesthetic despite its obviously preppy roots.
What are your favorite NYFW collections?

Mellow Yellow

{Forever 21 dress, Anthropologie belt, Target sandals, Invicta watch, gifted pearls}
I wore this outfit on a date over the weekend.

This is one of the few Forever 21 items I have gotten a lot of mileage out of. I bought this dress two summers ago, and still love it as much as I did when I purchased it (for a whopping $20).

There's just something so happy about yellow.
How was your weekend?

Back-To-School Basics

{J. Crew shirt, shorts, shoes, Michael Kors watch, gifted pearls}
This outfit is comprised of two recent purchases that I honestly have no idea how I previously lived without: a basic white-button down and neutral sandals.

I have been looking for the perfect white button-down shirt for as long as I can remember. Fit is everything with an item as basic as this, and I searched everywhere for a crisp, tailored one until I saw this shirt on sale online and figured I'd give it a try. Turns out, it's so amazing I want one in every color! It has just a pinch of stretch, and the button placement is perfect- I'm in love.

Another thing my wardrobe had been previously lacking was a pair of sophisticated yet casual neutral sandals. I absolutely adore the shape of this pair, and the nude suede is gorgeously luxe.

With two weeks of school already down, I'm finally getting back in the swing of things, but I'm so thrilled for the three-day-weekend. What are your Labor Day plans?

P.S. I chose Amsterdam!

Technicolor Dress

{Joie dress, Forever 21 belt, J. Crew sandals, Michael Kors watch, gifted pearls and necklace}
I wore this outfit to class on a recent particularly hot day. I absolutely adore how breezy this dress is, and it adds a much-needed dose of color to my wardrobe.

It feels so good to be back in the blogging mode again!
On a very random note, I'm having a semi-crisis trying to decide (in less than two days) between studying abroad in London or Amsterdam this coming spring. I've had my heart set on London for as long as I can remember, but I've recently had an unexpected change of heart and am now leaning towards Amsterdam. If you feel strongly about either city, do tell! I'm open to any and all advice.
P.S. Happy September!
