Pleated

Totally in love with the pleated trend this season. Whether they're making an appearance in sheer maxis, layered dresses, short-shorts, or ladylike teatime skirts, pleats are showing up everywhere right now- and I'm obsessed!
Over memorial day weekend, I hit a J. Crew outlet store on a road trip through Las Vegas (sidenote: J. Crew plus Vegas is a very bizarre combination) and picked up this dress with a pleated skirt. I already want to buy it in another color, and am wearing it to my boyfriend's birthday dinner tonight- pictures to (hopefully) come soon!

Hair Envy

I am no stranger to hair envy. In fact, I get it all the time- on the street, at brunch, in the pages of Vogue- I want everyone's hair but my own! Not that I despise my own head of hair...it's just the grass is always greener, you know?

Lately I've especially been loving simple, slightly messy buns and ponytails.

And the most jealousy-inducing chignon. This photo actually made me want to dye my hair red. Badly. Obsessed with this saturated, fiery color.

Dream Team

As if J. Crew needed it, they just got a style boost from CFDA winner Prabal Gurung, who designed a capsule collection in collaboration with the brand. Digging that white suit with the bow on the lapel!

Madewell Fall 2011

I know it's summer, but I can't help but lust over these fabulous fall duds. Another win for Madewell.

Two in One

Getting ready for brunch over the weekend, I was having a tough time deciding how to dress. It wasn't that I didn't have anything to wear, but instead that I was having way too much fun playing with a new skirt, and couldn't decide which option I wanted to go with. I finally picked an outfit, but I also wanted to show how easy it is to switch up a look with incredibly easy accessorizing.

Here's the ladylike look I wore to brunch. I absolutely love this skirt, which I initially thought might be too dressy for regular wear, but quickly found out I was wrong. I'm crazy about the way a white tee can make any skirt look fresh, not fussy.

And here's the dressed-down version of this outfit I wore after brunch, when we stumbled upon a hidden gem of a bookstore called Book Soup. It's a charming space on Sunset with tons of nooks and crannies filled to the ceiling- so fun to poke around in!

By swapping the necklace for a scarf and the heels for my favorite sneakers, it was so easy to make this look go from dressy to casual.

Skirt + Simple Tee = Fabulous blank canvas.

New Whites

{Penelope Cruz for June Vogue/ Zara lookbook/ Alexa Chung for Korean Vogue via TFS}
White is the color of the season, and I'm crazy about all the inventive ways it's being worn right now. A sexy, retro swimsuit and a crisp white pant (or short) suit. So elegant, yet effortless. Added chic points for donning different white hues together, a la Alexa Chung.

Beach Blues

{J. Brand jeans, H&M top, Target belt, Jessica Simpson wedges, Ray-Ban sunglasses, Essie nail polish in Geranium}
Just got back to L.A. after spending a long weekend on the coast of Texas.

I finally got my hands on my perfect pair of high-waisted jeans. I love the super 70's feeling of them. They have the perfect amount of stretch, and are hands down some of the most comfortable jeans I have ever worn.

The beach was a perfect way to relax before starting my internship. Tomorrow's my first day at Vogue- so excited!

Road Tripping

Took a road trip from Austin, Texas down to the coast of Texas yesterday on a mini-vacation. The beaches here are nothing like California, but the water is lovely and warm. Adore these photos for some traveling inspiration. Outfit posts to come soon!
